2009/10 Kindergarten Registration Timeline

(All events will be held at Grand Ridge unless otherwise noted.)

Wednesday, 2/25 6:30pm	2009/10 Kindergarten Parent Information Night Join us in the Grand Ridge Commons to learn all about the kindergarten registration process.  You will receive a kindergarten registration packet to complete and return on either of the kindergarten registration dates (March 4 & 5).  Parents not attending this meeting can pick up a registration packet on March 4 or 5.
Wednesday, 3/4 2:30 - 7:00pm or Thursday, 3/5 4:00 - 6:00pm	2009/10 Kindergarten Registration Days Pick-up a registration packet or return the completed packet you received on February 25. Parent identification, immunization records and proof of birth date are necessary for registration, along with a recent utility bill or purchase/lease agreement for proof of residence. Note:  There is no priority given to students whether packets are picked up on February 25 or March 4 or March 5.
Tuesday, 3/10 4:00 pm	Full Day Kindergarten Lottery Registration Deadline Parents who wish to register students for the full day kindergarten lottery may do so at their neighborhood schools until 4:00 pm on Tuesday, March 10.
Wednesday, 3/11 10:30am	Full Day Kindergarten Lottery (Open to the Public) A drawing of all names in a non-gender lottery will be conducted in the conference room at Grand Ridge, creating the class list and the waiting list (in order) of any additional names.  Parent observation of the lottery process is welcome and encouraged.
Thursday, 3/12	Full Day Kindergarten Lottery Results Available A confirming letter will be sent to each participating family.
Thursday, 3/12 4:00pm	Non-Neighborhood School Lottery Conducted at the District Office.
Wednesday, 5/6 7:00 – 8:30pm	Kindergarten Transition Seminar Sponsored by Issaquah PTSA Council & Grand Ridge PTSA, this is a seminar for incoming 2009-2010 Kindergarten parents.  It is a wonderful forum seminar about non-academic topics for parents (ONLY) whose children are preparing for the transition into elementary school.  The forum will be made up of parents, counselors and a teacher.
Wednesday, 5/27 2:00pm	Kindergarten Parent (only) Information Meeting A panel of kindergarten teachers, school administrators, and PTSA representatives will talk about the “nuts and bolts” of kindergarten and will facilitate a question and answer session for parents (only) of incoming kindergarteners.
Wednesday, 6/3 3:30 - 5:30pm	School Tours for N ew Kindergarteners (“Bear Hunt”) Parents and students are invited to come explore the school and discover the fun that awaits!  Tours leave every 15 minutes and last a half hour.  Reservations are not required.
