Grand Ridge Parent Survey

June 2007

 

          In the spring of 2007, Grand Ridge’s Site Council provided a Zoomerang survey for parents to complete based on their experience of the school’s first year.  With a student population of 650, 23% of parents responded to the survey.  In describing their families, 71% of respondents noted that they had one child at Grand Ridge.  When indicating grade levels of their children, results were as follows:

            When describing their child/ren’s education at Grand Ridge, 95% either agreed or strongly agreed that it was “a quality education”.  Regarding safety, 97% responded that they either agreed or strongly agreed that their child/ren feel safe and comfortable attending school.  For 99%, school/classroom rules and expectations are clear.  In addition, 85% feel that students respect those who are different from them.  For 84%, there is agreement or strong agreement that their child/ren’s playground experiences are positive on a day-to-day basis. 

            Regarding communication, 96% of respondents feel that they are kept current of the happenings in their child’s classroom.  Of those responding to the survey, 94% agreed or strongly agreed that the school’s E-news is useful and informative. In addition, 92% feel that teachers are approachable and responsive to students and parental questions and concerns.  The following programs/services were rated as valuable by over 90% of respondents:  Curriculum Night, Parent/Teacher Conferences, Field Trips, and PTSA Sponsored Events (Grizzly Griddle, Popcorn, Reflections).
